Antibes: a city in review

Zoom in on the picturesque city of Antibes; home of art an a playground of the elite

Half-way from Nice to Cannes, lies the city of Antibes. It is a city full of history, that a part of it is now considered as the “Silicone Valley” of the riviera.

Like several cities in the region, Antibes uses also home to great art creations – Picasso’s to be exact, in a museum dedicated to his pieces.
Originally a house of the Grimaldi family, Pablo Picasso himself chose to live there after WWII.

But before getting to the museum, you will witness Europe’s largest yacht marina in the world: Vauban Port.
It is one of the few ports in Europe that can host yachts longer than 100 meters, with more than 2,000 moorings in total.

Entering the small and charming central city, you will find the lively old-town area. Among others, there are typical french restaurant and lovely bistros, as well as an art market.

Outside the walls there are the more modern parts of the city. The “high-tech” part named Sophia Antipolis, and also the extremely posh Cap d’Antibes. The latter is a beautiful peninsula that is practically a playground for the elite during summer.
