This one is simple: find a time to walk this path as soon as you can
Most people visiting Monaco are concentrated on the popular landmarks. The Monte-Carlo Casino, Cafe de Paris, the F1 track etc. – and for a good reason.
However, since there are such attractions just around the border, it will be a pity to miss them out. Plus, it is so easy to do so if you even if are not familiar with the area.
On the western side of the border with France there is a small town called Cap d’Ail.
Shaded by the glam of Monaco, it does not attract so much crowd to it. But if one place is worth the buzz it will be the town’s costal path that connects between Mala Plage (more about it here), Cap d’Ail train station and Monaco.
The perfect hike
It must be the most well maintained, charming and intriguing path around here.
Beside the epic scenary, you will also discover the fascinating description on the riffs scattered along.
The whole track takes about 1h20 to make from one side to the other (Mala Plage-Monaco) but we recommend a more convenient way to explore it.
Take the SNCF train to Cap d’Ail (one stop before coming from Nice).
Then, find your way down to the coast and choose your way: right (west) will take you to the niche Mala Plage.
Left will take you to Monaco. Both directions takes around 30 minutes to reach by walking and are equally beautiful as you can see in the photos.
Mid-way towards Monaco there is a small peninsula with a restaurant if you wish to have a pause with a dreamy view.
Anyhow, you will find several spots with access to the sea including water fountains.
