Ever wondered what are the perks of living in the Côte d’Azur? The full picture of life in French Riviera
Living in what is many people’s dream of visiting is a curious thing. Yet, we wish to celebrate where we live in each and every day.
So, we decided to upload of some perks that we encountered while living here where you barely get in any other place!
1. Perfect weather
The French Riviera is a very suitable place for sun seekers. The fact this region has more than 300 days of sun in a year gives it an ideal & cozy weather even during winter, while being only 1h away from the snowy french alps!
2. Health
When needed, finding a clinic or hospital in the region in the area is super easy. The spread of hospitals in the 06 area is generous and in every major city you will find one.
Moreover, there is an agreement between the region’s ministry to Monaco that French citizens from the area can get medical treatments in the principality using their French healthcare.
3. Superb food
Culinary is a big deal here. Thanks to population diversity, we get to experience dishes from all four corners of the world. The local products are rich and sublime and thanks to the costal proximity, sea food is always fresh.
From European to African – we have it.
4. Italy awaits
Italy is a close neighbor to the PACA (Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur) region. That fact allow one to cross 3 countries in less than an hour: France, Monaco and Italy!
This insures yet another dimension of culture, in terms of mentality, food and language.
5. Ski by winter, beach by summer
Our region is located below the French Alps. This prime location provides clean air and abundant water supply, just a touch away from the coastline. This also brings tropical weather in some places which can result in tricky forecast.
6. Colors of the sea
One of the most fascinating sights in the French Riviera, especially in Nice, is the constantly changing color of the sea.
Affected by weather and the friction of stones inside the waters, every day brings with it a different shade of blue, green or turquois – hence the name “Côte d’Azur”.
7. Star dust
If you love glam, this is the right place to live in. Many world-famous stars own properties here and spend some months of the year in them, so it is highly likely for you to pass by them.
8. Beach for every preference
Weather you like sandy beaches or like less messy cobblestone option – there is a place for any kind of preference. Basically, sandy beaches are located from Antibes and east, whereas from there eastbound are the more stony ones. We even made a list of the best lounges along the coast.
9. Arguably the best cars in the world
Monaco holds one of the finest selection of billionaires cars and so is its surroundings. With a historical heritage of Formula 1 racing, it is a dream land for every car enthusiast. Every walk can lead to a sight with a supercar or priceless collection vehicle. On top of that, there is a beautiful car collection of the prince in the Fontvieille district.
10. Reserved access to Monaco’s old town
Only cars wearing license plates from Monaco and the “06” area, the Côte d’Azur, can climb with their cars to the old town of Monaco. This gives closer access to the Oceanographic Museum, as well as the Prince’s Palace and the Saint Nicholas Cathedral.
